Woman-Owned Business, The Geo Group, Recognized for 25 Years of Business
Madison WI – November 5, 2015 – The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) recognized The Geo Group Corporation, for the outstanding achievement of being in business for a quarter of a century.
In a ceremony held at the Governor’s Marketplace in Milwaukee on October 29, Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch presented Georgia Roeming, with a plaque “in recognition of 25 years of business achievement with outstanding contributions to the business development and job creation in the State of Wisconsin.”
Roeming, owner of the company, said “This award is a source of great pride to our small company. We have seen and experienced a great deal of change in the area of translations as the world got ‘smaller’ and a new global economy and workplace expanded.”
The Geo Group Corporation was founded in 1991 as an advertising agency with extensive expertise in audio-video services. The company changed its focus to professional translation and interpreting services as a result of The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) passing in 1995, which increased the demand for translation in the United States. Today, their company’s translator, linguist, and interpreter network encompasses over 60 countries. The company is headquartered in Madison, WI with sales offices servicing Chicago, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis/St. Paul.
