We Safely Resumed AV Production During COVID-19
It’s no secret that COVID-19 has had a significant impact on many industries. After months of shutdowns and companies switching to working online, here at the Geo Group we have been fortunate to safely resume AV Production.
The Geo Group has two studios in house for audio-visual post-production, offering voice over, subtitling, and graphic editing. When COVID-19 restrictions were put in place, the Geo Group staff started working from home. The AV team was fortunate enough to work remotely, socially distanced, and with the right precautions in the studio when needed. Yet, some corporate media departments were not so fortunate. Many projects that were lined up for 2020 faced uncertainty and many multimedia projects were put on hold.
Thus, companies had to change their marketing strategies at the last minute. They started to use online resources such as Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex, Teams, etc., as in-person meetings and on-site conferences were cancelled. Trek Bicycles was one of these companies. They had scheduled an international conference for 2020, but they had to regroup to make sure all their already completed work was not in vain. Trek decided to take the conference virtual, for which they needed language services. The Geo Group worked with Trek to subtitle their online virtual conference material into 19 languages over a two-month period to keep their 2020 conference on schedule.
Also during this time, The Geo Group has been working on a product to provide customers with remote simultaneous interpreting services, aptly named GeoRemoteInterpreting. The COVID-19 pandemic has made communicating virtually with clients and employees a key to business survival. GeoRemoteInterpreting is a web conferencing platform designed for virtual meetings in over 50 languages.
