MADISON, WI — The Salvation Army recognizes The Geo Group Corporation for its annual volunteer efforts. Every year, employees volunteer to ring bells at two Madison locations to collect money for the needy in our community. The Geo Group Corporation received a plaque for their efforts supporting The Salvation Army, which will be updated each year with new medallions of service.
Mary Sue Mayer of The Geo Group Corporation organizes a fun competition within the company to encourage participation. “By creating teams that compete against each other to raise the most funds, employees from different departments have an opportunity to work together outside the office,” says Mayer. “It adds to the office camaraderie and also adds a lot of fun!”
Donald Haar of the Salvation Army recognized Scott and Georgia Roeming, owners of The Geo Group Corporation, for contributing matching funds. “It’s for a good cause, it’s a fun event for all of us,” says Roeming. Donald told a gathering of Geo employees how the funds are used in different ways to help others and expressed his appreciation on behalf of The Salvation Army for their dedication to the charity.
